US, Sudan Brokered Cease-Fire Snubbed 

Residents of Sudan’s capital, Khartoum, Wednesday said the rival Sudan Armed Forces and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) were sporadically attacking each other amid a 72-hour cease-fire brokered by the U.S. The conflict in the northeast African nation continued as the rival forces traded accusations of who masterminded Tuesday’s jail breaks by officials that were part of former President Omah al-Bashir’s administration – a development that analysts predicted would fuel the fighting.
