Despite Progress, Health Access Unequal Worldwide: WHO
Friday marks the 75th anniversary of World Health Day, this year observed under the theme, "Health for All." Sponsored by the World Health Organization in 1948, the day aims to raise awareness around health issues that affect people all over the world. The WHO says while some gains have been made, millions of people globally, particularly in low-and-middle-income countries, do not receive the medical treatment and prevention tools they need. VOA's Linord Moudou spoke with Dr. Ahmed Ogwell Ouma, acting director of the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention about efforts to increase access to healthcare for all, on the continent.
