Rights Groups Call for Ethiopia Accountability
International human rights groups are calling on U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who arrived in Ethiopia Tuesday and is set to meet with authorities in the Horn of Africa nation Wednesday, to urge Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s administration to account for ongoing human rights violations in Northern Tigray while prioritizing the implementation of the peace deal focused on ending the conflict responsible for taking the lives of an estimated 500,000 civilians.
