Many Ivorian migrant workers who returned home from Tunisia recounted their experiences with struggles and challenges faced by sub-Saharan African nationals living in North African country.  Ange Séri Soka, the head of an association of Ivorian nationals in Tunisia, was among those who spoke at a press conference in Abidjan on Monday, saying, "Tunisia has become an open-air prison for us Sub-Saharan Africans."  Recent remarks by Tunisian President Kais Saied, who called for “urgent measures” against “hordes” of sub-Saharan migrants, have prompted hundreds of sub-Saharans to register with their embassies on repatriation lists.
