South Africa Reports First Cholera Death, Malawi Battles to Contain Spread
Africa is currently experiencing a rise in cholera, as South Africa’s health department confirmed its first death from the disease and Malawi battles its deadliest outbreak to date. The waterborne illness can cause death within hours if not treated. VOA’s Mkamiti Kibayasi spoke with Dr. Neema Rusibamayila Kimambo, WHO Malawi representative, about the health organizations efforts to stop cholera's deadly spread.
