Ghanaian activists report that recent tax hikes on imported goods are making sanitary pads unaffordable to vulnerable women and girls who are forced to skip school during their periods. Activists are calling for the scrapping of tax hikes and for government to produce locally made biodegradable pads that will help vulnerable women and girls.
