UN Hikes 2023 Budget for DRC Amid Insecurity
Director of the Geneva-based Center for African Security and Strategic Studies, David Otto Endeley, says a 2023 hike in a United Nations budget for the Democratic Republic of Congo is an indication that the peacekeeping mission in the country is struggling. On Wednesday, the U.N.'s coordinator for the DRC, Bruno Lemarquis, announced a record $2.25 billion is required to support the displaced in the east of the country due to rising operational costs. VOA's Ignatius Annor reports.
