The conflict in Ukraine has overshadowed ”urgent global issues like COVID-19, poverty, inequality, climate change and other broader sustainable development agenda,” South African President Cyril Ramaphosa said during the BRICS Summit on Friday. Ramaphosa has also called for safeguarding the principle of multilateralism, urging a "United Nations that is fit for purpose."
