Somalia Welcomes Return of US Forces

Somalia's new president, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has welcomed the redeployment of U.S. troops to his country to fight against al-Shabab militants. U.S. President Joe Biden recently authorized the deployment of hundreds of soldiers who will help train, equip and support Somali troops fighting the al-Qaeda-linked al-Shabab insurgency.
