South Sudan women’s rights groups are calling on President Salva Kiir to delay the swearing-in of parliament until 35 percent of seats are allocated to women. For South Sudan in Focus, Wakhe Simon Wudu reports 174 women were appointed to parliament out of 550 people - or 32 percent.
