Lister and Itani discuss Washington’s disjointed policy and how Tehran and Moscow have bolstered the hand of Syrian President Bashar al Assad who, when faced with peaceful protests in 2011 in the context of the Arab Spring, chose to decimate his country and murder civilians rather than share power.
