Huge Ring System Surrounds Newly Discovered Exoplanet
A pair of astronomers recently announced that they have discovered a celestial body outside of our solar system that they refer to as a “Super Saturn”. That’s because the object is surrounded by a ring system that’s 200 times as large as those that circle Saturn. Dr. Eric Mamajek from the University of Rochester is one of the astronomers who made the discovery. He tells us about this new found “Super Saturn”. And... Elizabeth Lee will tell us about an unusual organism that breathes rocks. Carol Pearson reports that doctors may soon have a more reliable way to diagnose prostate cancer. British scientists are close to creating a smartphone application that send taste, smell and even a basic touch in addition to visuals and audio. There was another security breach at the White House when a small remote-controlled quad copter crashed on the lawn. Experts say there is no reliable way to protect against these now widely available devices. We'll have these stories and more on today's edition of VOA's Science, Health and Technology magazine... Science World.
