KARIMA BENNOUNE / "YOUR FATWA DOES NOT APPLY HERE" Host Carol Castiel, and VOA’s Frances Alonzo, host of “Women Rising,” speak with Algerian-American researcher and Law professor Karima Bennoune, about her recently published book “Your Fatwa Does Not Apply Here: Untold Stories From the Fight Against Muslim Fundamentalism.”   Karima gives voice to everyday people from a broad cross-section of Muslim majority countries in North Africa, South Asia and the Middle East who are creatively and non-violently fighting against Muslim fundamentalists who distort their faith for political ends. Via her stories, Karima demonstrates what ordinary people around the world can do to combat violent extremism and sexism whether it emanates from Islam, Christianity or Judaism.
