Breastfeeding is an ideal source of nutrition for infants, with a mix of vitamins, protein, and fat. According to the WHO, the antibodies in breastmilk protect babies against illness and death during the critical period of early growth and development. But experts say many women cannot breastfeed their babies for medical reasons or because they do not receive the support they need to properly breastfeed their babies.
