President Emmerson Mnangagwa has announced his new cabinet following the country’s August 23 elections. The cabinet includes President Mnangagwa’s son as deputy minister of finance as well as the president’s nephew as minister of tourism. Critics say the new cabinet mirrors the old and has little capacity to deal with some of the major economic issues confronting Zimbabwe. Vince Musewe, a Zimbabwean economist, tells VOA’s James Butty, the level of competence reflected in the new cabinet is disappointing.
