Zambia’s Parliament Okays Information Access Bill

Zambia’s parliament Thursday passed the Access to Information Bill. It now awaits the approval of President Hakainde Hichilema. Information Minister Cornelius Mweetwa says the bill marks a major achievement in President Hichilema’s campaign promise to bring about transparency and accountability. Mweetwa tells VOA’s James Butty, the bill will strengthen democratic practices in Zambia.
