The Carthage Eagles of Tunisia hold a special place in African football history. In 1978, Tunisia became the first African team to win a World Cup match when it beat Mexico, 3-1, in Argentina. Now, Tunisia is preparing for this month's World Cup in Qatar. Sonny Young spoke with VOA Muqbil Yabarow about Tunisia's top players; the team's chances of beating Australia, Denmark and defending world champion France in group play; and Tunisia's close cultural and economic ties with World Cup host Qatar.
