Women's AFCON Title Match Saturday

The stage is set for the Saturday, July 23 Women's AFCON championship match in Rabat, Morocco pitting the home team, the Atlas Lionesses, against South Africa's Banyana Banyana (The Girls).

The 2022 Women's Africa Cup of Nations will have a champion after Saturday's final match.

The Atlas Lionesses came to the title match after downing Nigeria's Super Falcons on July 18 1-1 with the win coming through penalty kicks.

South Africa earned its place in the clash for the cup by taking out Zambia 1-0 on the same day.

The third place contest, slated for Friday, July 22, pits Nigeria against Zambia.

The Women's AFCON finals serve as the African qualifiers for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, to be played both in Australia and New Zealand.

The four semifinalists secure their places in the FIFA championship, and two additional teams will also go to the FIFA matches.
