Ethiopia’s National Meteorology Agency says that the major rainy season is now underway in several parts of the country. But are the rains coming too late in the Horn of Africa? The lack of rain in the region has caused the worst drought in forty years. Oxfam International reports that one person likely dying from hunger every 48 seconds in drought-ravaged parts of Ethiopia, Kenya and Somalia. On the next edition of Our Voices, we’ll look at how nations in the Horn are on the brink of famine after four consecutive years of drought.
