Harassed, Attacked or Detained? Reporters Without Borders, an international non-profit and non-governmental organization, says its studies show the number of female journalists that have been arbitrarily detained in recent years rose by 20 percent. Eighty-five percent of the study respondents say sexual harassment in newsrooms is common. On the next edition of Our Voices, we will examine why are female journalists are under fire and explore how it impacts the quest for press freedoms, especially in Africa.
