A Vatican official visiting South Sudan says little has changed in the country since Pope Francis visited one year ago. Cardinal Michael Czerny urges South Sudanese leaders to work for peaceful, fair and credible elections in December. The head of the Catholic Church in South Sudan, Cardinal Stephen Ameyu, says the latest visit by a high-ranking church leader shows the country is important to the Vatican.
