The United States last week said that it was deeply concerned by reports of targeted civilian killings in the Ethiopian town of Merawi located in the country’s northern Amhara region. I spoke this week with David Monda, Professor of Political Science at City University of New York, about what's been going on in Ethiopia. In part two of our conversation, he says there are also calls to independently investigate drone attacks and extrajudicial killings by government forces on civilians. Professor Monda starts our conversation by describing Prime Minister Abyi’s political transformation.
