US and Other Countries Pledge Additional Aid for Haiti Mission

The United Nations approved a resolution to move forward with a Kenya-led international force into Haiti to support the country’s overwhelmed police forces to battle gangs. The non-affiliated mission would be reviewed after nine months and be funded by voluntary contributions, with the U.S. pledging up to $200 million.
