Unaccompanied child migrants keep crossing US border despite risks

South Texas remains one of the top destinations for migrants under 18 who enter the United States without documents or adult companions. While there has been a decrease in crossings during the 2024 fiscal year, compared to prior years, the dangers these children face continues to be a cause for concern.
