The United Nations and the African Union are hailing Sudanese political groups and military leaders for signing a framework agreement that would pave the way for a new transitional period. The UN chief in Sudan, Volker Pirthes, is urging the parties to the deal to immediately engage in the drafting of a new constitution and to establish a transitional government to implement the programs stipulated in the accord.
