UN Agency Seeks Gaza Cease-Fire, Aid to Civilians

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) says the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip has gotten worse since October 7. In its latest situation report, UNRWA says 79 of its colleagues have so far been killed. It also says 1.5 million internally displaced people are sheltering in the Gaza Strip, most of them at UNRWA facilities. Spokesperson Juliette Touma tells VOA’s James Butty ,her agency desperately needs a humanitarian ceasefire to protect and serve all civilians wherever there are needs.
