The spokesperson for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) says its immediate goal is to allow unimpeded humanitarian access to Gaza and a humanitarian ceasefire to spare lives. Juliette Touma says her agency welcomes the weekend opening of the Rafah border crossing to allow some relief, but that it is insufficient given the needs of the people of Gaza. She tells VOA’s James Butty, UNRWA also needs fuel to replace its dwindling supplies which are critical for the agency’s work.
