A Ugandan media specialist says while the country has made some progress in addressing gender-based violence, women in the media have not fare that well. This, as the world embarks on 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence which began November 25 and runs through December 10. Brenda Namata is the Communications and Advocacy Officer of the Uganda Media Women's Association. She says when it comes to women in the media, gender-based violence manifests itself in the form of sexual harassment and body-shaming, especially during the digital media era.
