Tunisia’s incumbent president said he would wait for official results before declaring victory while acknowledging exit polls showing him winning by a landslide in Sunday's election which was marred by earlier arrests of his main opponents. Only 27% of the electorate voted at the time polling stations closed. VOA's Carol Van Dam asked William Laurence, former diplomat in Tunisia and North Africa director of the National Council on US Arab Relations why there was such a low voter turnout.
