Fighting erupted in the Sudanese capital Khartoum this morning between the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The Sudan intelligence agency described the RSF as rebels while the leader of the RSF, Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, called Sudan's military leader General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan a "thief and a liar." The RSF has claimed control of the international airport, state broadcaster, Sudan TV, and a military base in the northern town of Marowe.
