Ahead of the one-year anniversary of the conflict in Sudan, the United States says the warring parties have both undermined aid operations and ignored a U.N. Security Council call for an immediate cessation of hostilities. Meanwhile, as the deadly clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) drag on, the news industry in war-torn Sudan has suffered a devastating blow, with media facilities destroyed and many journalists losing their lives amid the conflict.
