As fighting rages in Sudan, a report by the United Nations cultural agency, UNESCO, highlights shrinking media freedoms in the country. The report shows that journalists in Sudan have experienced gross rights violations, including rape and torture, forcing dozens of them to flee to neighboring countries, including Uganda.
