Fighting in Sudan between the army and paramilitary Rapid Support Forces has killed hundreds of civilians and driven nearly 400,000 across borders - and more than 1.2 million out of the capital, Khartoum, and other cities. Shortages of food, medicines and water are becoming extremely acute as clashes escalated after an expired cease-fire.
