A South Sudanese youth-led organization is struggling to open the first-ever menstrual health center in Juba. The head of “Arise Africa” says not many girls and young women can afford sanitary pads as many South Sudanese live below the poverty line. The center plans to hold conversations about sexual and reproductive health and provide women and girls with sanitary pads. For South Sudan in Focus, Juliana Siapai reports from Juba.
