South Sudan’s HIV/AIDS Commission says more than 8,000 people died of HIV/AIDS in the country in 2021. As the global community marks World AIDS Day, the U.S. ambassador in South Sudan says his government has invested over $300 million to support people living with HIV/AIDS and efforts to end new infections by 2030.
