A 17-year-old girl whose eyes were allegedly damaged by her father for refusing to enter into an arranged marriage arrived in Juba Wednesday for further treatment. A spokesperson of the South Sudan National Police Service, who received the girl and her mother at Juba International Airport, told reporters the girl’s father, Angelo Agany Kuut Achuil, will be arraigned in court and, if convicted, could spend up to seven years in prison.
