South Sudan’s undersecretary in the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, who is attending the COP 29 meeting in Azerbaijan says his country has commissioned independent firms to carry out studies on suspected pollution caused by oil production some states in the country. Africano Bartel tells VOA’s John Tanza that oil companies ignoring South Sudan's laws will be held accountable after the completion of the studies.
