South Africa Deploys More Firefighters for Canada Wildfires

Canada this week is set to receive over 200 South African firefighters and 13 managers as part of the second contingent of firefighters sent to the North American nation to help fight a series of wildfires. The wildfires have also affected parts of the United States, resulting in bad air quality. For more, VOA’s Carol Van Dam spoke to Trevor Abrahams, managing director of the South African firefighters in Canada, who speaks on the deployment and their relationship with the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Center.
