Spokesperson for Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio says the decision by US Secretary State Antony Blinken to impose visas restrictions for some people in Sierra Leone is unfair. Secretary State Blinken says the restrictions will affect those who the US believes were responsible for manipulating or rigging Sierra Leone’s electoral process, or those who intimidated voters and election observers. Spokesperson Solomon Jamiru says Sierra Leone has taken steps to deepen democracy, and that President Maada Bio did win.
