Sierra Leone’s main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) party has rejected preliminary results announced Monday by the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone (ECSL). The commission said the tally represented 60 percent of the total votes and that incumbent President Julius Maada Bio garnered over one million votes compared to 793,751 votes for APC candidate Samura Kamara. Sidie Yahya Tunis, APC national publicity secretary, tells Daybreak Africa host James Butty, the APC is rejecting the results because they are what he calls “faked” and “cooked up” and were never verified by APC field representatives.
