Senator Ben Cardin, D-MD talks with VOA's Carol Van Dam about the plight of the Sudanese

The United Nations has called Sudan the worst displacement crisis in the world. It is where more than 12 million people have been displaced and more than 15-thousand others have been killed since in a civil war broke out in April of last year. The head of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee spoke Thursday in Chicago on the sidelines of the Democratic National Committee about the plight of Sudanese and what the U-S is doing to try to end the war. VOA’s Carol Van Dam has more.
