Russian fleet in Syria looks for new dockyards after Bashar al-Assad’s ousting

Russian ships docked in the Syrian port of Latakia are reportedly looking to move to move to another port, Tartus, following the ousting of President Bashar al-Assad by Syrian rebel groups. VOA’s Philip Alexiou spoke to Joseph Siegle, the director of research for the Africa Center for Strategic Studies at the National Defense University in Washington, for further development into the fleet’s movements, and the likeliness they may travel to Africa should the Syrian port fall under rebel control.
