As Sudan's warring factions gear up for another round of talks in Jeddah, the Rapid Support Forces says it’s ready for long-term cease-fire negotiations to address the root causes of the conflict. Sudan Armed Forces' delegation is back in Jeddah after accusing the RSF of violating previous cease-fires mediated by the United States and Saudi Arabia. RSF advisor Yousif Izzat disputes the claim and assures a strong joint monitoring mechanism that will include neighboring countries. He told VOA’s Nabeel Biajo the RSF aims for a comprehensive solution to Sudan's historical problems, which he says have produced numerous wars in the past — the current conflict being the latest.
