Sudan's paramilitary Rapid Support Forces Tuesday expressed willingness for immediate, unconditional cease-fire talks with the Sudanese army, according to Reuters. Signed in Addis Ababa with Taqadum, a civilian coalition, the statement is also an invitation to the army. RSF chief Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo sees the document as groundwork for peace negotiations, aiming to resolve the nine-month conflict. Led by former Sudanese Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok, the civilian coalition actively seeks solutions to the country's conflict — inviting Sudan's army chief, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, for a similar meeting. Meanwhile, Dagalo is on a regional tour, marking his first public appearance since the conflict's eruption in April, preceding the anticipated face-to-face meeting with Burhan.
