Rescue Continues in Flood Ravaged Tanzania

Rescue work was continuing yesterday in Tanzania following floods and landslides in the town of Katesh, about 478 miles from the capital, Dar es Salaam. President Samia Suluhu Hassan cut short her trip in Dubai where she has been attending the COP28 climate conference. Mobhare (Moh-bah-Rey) Matinyi (Mah-tee-Nyee,Tanzanian government spokesperson, tells VOA’s James Butty, 65 dead bodies have been recovered so far, and 1,150 homes destroyed.
