Random shelling in Khartoum kills more than 120 people

Sudanese rescuers say random shelling Monday in Khartoum's western Omdurman resulted in the deaths of 120 civilians as fighting between the army and paramilitaries escalates nationwide. VOA’s Esther Githui-Ewart spoke to Sarah Casteran, the senior regional policy, and advocacy advisor of Mercy Corps in East and Southern Africa, about the humanitarian organization's work on the ground in Sudan where its members are distributing food, medicine, and other critical support to malnourished children and are working to curb the outbreak of communicable diseases.
