The Nigeria Labor Congress says it will decide Thursday whether it will suspend its nationwide protest over the suspension of a fuel subsidy. This, after the group met with President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday. The congress had its first day of nationwide strike on Wednesday over the removal of the subsidy. They are also demanding a new minimum wage. Emmanuel Ugboaja, Secretary General of the Nigeria Labor Congress, tells VOA’s James Butty, they will continue to seek solutions because workers depend on government intervention to reduce – and not raise – fuel prices.
