Businesses in Nigeria are facing hardship after President Bola Tinubu scrapped the fuel subsidy, resulting in massive cost increases and a squeeze on small-scale entrepreneurs across the West African nation. Tinubu defended the new policy, inciting that it will free up money to improve education, regular power supply, infrastructure and healthcare. “The removal of (the) subsidy has been a nightmare," Temitope Ishola, Nigerian chef and restaurant owner said.
