Niger’s Junta Proposes Three Years Transition Plan

Niger’s military junta has reportedly proposed a three-year transition to democratic rule. Coup leader General Abdourahamane Tiani said the military did not overthrow elected President Mohamed Bazoum to confiscate power. Meanwhile, a delegation from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) met with ousted President Bazoum and had talks with the junta over the weekend in Niamey.
