Namibia braces for protests as opposition parties reject poll results

Namibians are awaiting results from Wednesday’s presidential and parliamentary elections. However, opposition candidate Panduleni Itula of the Independent Patriots for Change party is threatening to reject the results because of alleged irregularities. Opposition parties said Sunday that they would support Itula’s decision to challenge the results in the Supreme Court. This, after election officials extended voting from Wednesday to Saturday due to logistical and technical failures, according to reports.
